June 22, 23, 24 29, 30 and July 1st - Buskers on the Midway. Look for the all new Busk Stop signs which highlight the times and entertainment taking place at each of 3 pitches at the Festival Plaza.


June 22nd - The Tall Ship Appledore IV will be at Dieppe Park with tours taking place noon to 9:00PM

June 23rd - International Tug Boat Race and Shore Party - 1:00PM

June 24th - Typhoon Tommy and his jet ski show will be tearing up the river. Watch this show from the Festival Plaza for the best view on the river.   12:00PM, 2:00PM, 4:00PM

Today at 9:15 is our tour of the Health, Recreation and Fitness areas of the YMCA.

When we return, you can visit the WEVOLUNTEER website to register to be matched with an organization needing volunteers.

If you don't want to do that, please do these exercises on participial adjectives.

Switched at Birth

Hello, Cas' class!

Have you ever heard of babies being switched at birth? What do you think would happen if baby A went home with family B and baby B went home with family A?  Would the babies grow up to be more like the parents who gave them their genes or more like the parents who raised them?

Visit the This American Life website to listen to a podcast about two baby girls who really went home with the wrong families! One mother knew about the mistake, but the other mother didn't. The secret was kept for over 40 years. Find out what happened.

Organ Donation

Hello, Cas' class!

As you know, last week we read an article about organ donation. We also discussed this in pairs. Today you can visit the Trillium Gift of Life Network to read more about how Ontarians become donors. There is a video you can watch, or you can even register as a donor at beadonor.ca.

Cas said that some of you became interested last week in the Cuban Missile Crisis story of 1962. Feel free to Google that and read more about it. Then you can continue discussing it tomorrow in class.
